Ian Grimm, MD
Director of GI Procedures
Dr. Grimm has been practicing advanced therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy for nearly 30 years, and has had a longstanding interest in the non-surgical removal of complex polyps (very large or flat polyps). Dr. Grimm has served as director of the GI Procedures unit at UNC Memorial Hospital since 2000.
Clinical Focus: Advanced therapeutic endoscopy, including complex polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), and peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM); and translation of novel techniques into practice.
Academic Interests: Development of improved techniques for wide field mucosal resection; clinical development of novel endoscopic techniques.
